A locally sourced school meals pilot will run for two terms in selected rural primary schools.
Twenty rural primary schools will take part in a school feeding pilot from next term, serving meals prepared with locally sourced produce.
The pilot tests whether regular school meals improve attendance and concentration, with results informing a national policy decision in 2027.
